Jorge Eliécer Gaitán was one of the leading Colombian political leaders of the 1940s, the son of a bookseller and a schoolteacher. We'll begin this tour of Bogotá at Plaza de la Perseverancia at the indicated time.

In this square we'll see the monument to Gaitán, also known as the Caudillo del Pueblo. We'll discuss his origins while having a glass of chicha in the same place where Gaitán socialized.

Next, the tour continues at the Santamaría bullring. From there, we'll proceed to the Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, where we'll listen to part of the Peace Speech he delivered before his assassination. We will explore his connections to the Bogotazo as we visit other relevant locations.

We'll also visit the Museum of Gold, one of the city's main attractions. To conclude, we'll enjoy a tasting of Colombian coffee.

Finally, we will go to the central Plaza de Bolívar and after a 4.5-hour tour, we will end at the Centro Cultural García Márquez.
